Scene7 Offers eVideo Solution in a Strategic Alliance with QVC ProductWorks
Companies To Provide High-Quality, Cost-Effective Video Production
and Hosting Services
Novato, CA — October 12, 2004 — Scene7, provider of the
leading rich media platform to grow revenues and enhance visual communications
– while automating media production and delivery, announced
today a strategic alliance with QVC’s product marketing subsidiary,
QVC ProductWorks. This strategic alliance integrates QVC ProductWorks’
high-quality video production services with Scene7’s rich media
and delivery platform to provide cost-effective, turnkey video production
and hosting services to Scene7 clients – capitalizing on the
best practices from experts in their fields.
QVC ProductWorks develops live presentations and vendor video demonstrations
for over 100 QVC clients. Since its inception in 1997, QVC ProductWorks
has created over 2,500 videos for use on QVC.com and the QVC television-shopping
channel, using its extensive, highly scalable production facilities.
Scene7's new eVideo Solution is a full-service 100% outsourced solution
to quickly and cost-effectively add product video clips to websites,
banner ads, email, in-store kiosks – driving conversion rates
and multi-channel sales. Rich media, including video streaming, has
become a “hot” feature with the increase in broadband
adoption, now almost 50% penetration in US households. Seventy percent
of all retailers using videos think they are highly effective, with
streaming video being a “high priority” for home goods
and electronics categories, according to Forrester. Video is ideal
for communicating important, demonstrable product features for electronics
home appliances, tools, apparel, art, collectables, beauty products,
jewelry, cleaning products, health/fitness products, toys, gourmet
foods and more.
Scene7’s eVideo Solution includes complete production, hosting,
serving and reporting services. QVC ProductWorks will work directly
with the client to create video clips that clearly promote the products’
most important selling features, providing full project management,
scripting, voice-over, models and props. The streamlined video production
process is typically accomplished in less than two to three weeks.
"We’re excited about our strategic alliance with the experts
in video production. The unique combination of Scene7's leading rich
media platform with QVC ProductWorks’ superior video production
and creative capabilities will provide our clients with an even more
powerful set of integrated, rich media solutions – to further
drive increased spending and loyalty through an engaging customer
buying experience,” states Doug Mack, CEO of Scene7. "With
this new addition to our ever-expanding platform, Scene7 further extends
its leadership in the rich media market as our clients’ ‘one-stop
shop’ for all rich media requirements.”
Scene7 hosts and delivers the videos on its performance optimized
ASP-based video delivery network, Infinite Imaging™ Network.
The solution includes a client-side configurable, branded Macromedia®
Flash™-based viewer, and customer reporting/analytics to track
video usage and resulting conversions. Scene7’s Dynamic Asset
Management Solution will support video clip upload, management, Flash-viewer
configuration, and publishing of all video content to Scene7’s
network – along with all other rich media assets – to
streamline the launch process.
“Scene7 and QVC ProductWorks have developed a seamless video
production and delivery service which enable Scene7 clients to utilize
the expertise of our in-house video marketing staff and extensive
large volume production facilities – previously unavailable
to the commercial market,” said John V. Russell, general manager,
QVC ProductWorks. “Combining the strengths of both companies
will provide retailers and manufacturers with the highest quality,
most scalable services to drive maximum ROI from their video investment.”
QVC ProductWorks and Scene7 are actively engaged in co-marketing and
co-selling activities, including joint events, field sales training,
customer account planning, and other lead generation programs.
